At Morley and Scott we have developed an interactive “grooming” process which seeks to identify a number of “issues” with a business. This focuses attention on improving the quality and consistency of earnings and also reducing risk in a business and thus increasing value.
Ideally this process should occur over a 2-3 year period to gain maximum benefit and covers areas such as Products, Marketing, Customers, Suppliers, Contracts, Intellectual Property, Management, Key staff retention and a number of other important areas.
During the process we will discuss the taxation implications of sale, the subsequent investment of proceeds to ‘replace’ earnings, range of likely sale prices, marketing issues on sale and the likely types of buyers (i.e. trade sale, MBO, MBI etc).
We will be involved in the whole process from initial valuation, through the marketing process, examine Heads of Agreement, completion and beyond acting as facilitators, advisors and agents, working in partnership with our clients.
